What’s in the Box for January 15 – 18, 2013

In the box this week are:

  • kale
  • collards
  • carrots
  • arugula
  • winter squash
  • smoked sweet and Mauli’s red hot peppers
  • herbs:  lemon verbena

Notes:

  1. Once again, with the really cold nights and mornings, growth has slowed down a bunch, so this box is a bit on the small side.
  2. You can mix the sweet and hot peppers to achieve the level of heat you desire.  Using a blender to grind them works great.  Put a towel over the lid while blending to keep from choking on the capsaicin dust!

What’s in the Box for January 8 – 11, 2013

In the box this week are:

  • beets without tops
  • tenderstem broccoli
  • red Russian kale
  • Romanesco broccoli
  • salad reds and greens
  • lemons and limes
  • herbs:  parsley and marjoram

Notes:

  1. With the really cold nights and mornings, growth has slowed down a bunch, so this box is a bit on the small side.
  2. Tenderstem brocolli is all edible – no need to trim or peel!
